Hey guys,
Here is a video on drones and there affect on warfare that I watched while writing my special project. You may find it interesting and informative. Hopefully it can spark some dialogue.

  1. I found this video to be extremely interesting. Drones have always caught my attention and it just amazes me how much technology could change even the thought of war. Even the definition of war, “a conflict carried on by force of arms, as between nations or between parties within a nation” (dictionary.com), would change because humans would no longer be on a battlefield, the “parties” would be represented by the drones. I can just picture it in my head already!
Look at this picture, this is how I see a war in the future!

  2. Ever since Dave's presentation I have been more and more interested in drones and I can see that class feels the same way too. This is pretty much uncharted waters for all of us and it is just our curiosity that is getting the best of us. This video really cleared up the murkiness for me and really made me just more interested in the subject. What gets me is what if this technology gets into the wrong hands? I know it is only a matter of time, but this technology is one day going to be assisting us in our everyday lives. As of now, I am going to go as far to say that the US should instill a self destruction chip or whatever in each of their drones so that when one goes down, the technology cannot spread as rapid. Moreover, if the US does not stop this "shadiness" with its drones, from building drone bases in remote areas to striking targets in highly populated areas killing civilians, many are going to start protesting and there will be a global backlash against the use of drones. As of now, it seems that our government is using its power negatively and is being irresponsible, careless with it. This is not helping them receive the backing of the people, yes i believe the people love the thought of these drones saving our soldiers lives, but not at the hands of multiple civilians per one target.
