Iran a Potential Cyber Threat?

Jon, just going off of your project and your main focus in your education here at Carroll, I thought you might be interested in this. It's a little different from a majority of the concerns being raised up until this point. A lot of the focus has been on China and potentially Russia, but not a lot of attention has been on Iran. This ties in nicely with America's standing in the post 9/11 Middle East and how it has been impacted by decisions made by the United States government.

  1. The question I am left with after reading the article is, will Iran have enough will to commence a cyber attack against America? Will there planning be extensive enough that the full cyber attack will be carried through and actually devastate a part of our critical resources? I like to think that our security systems and our men developing them have the upper hand. On the contrary, is worries me that the Iranians do have the schooling and the knowledge to carry this out. Moreover, I could see them releasing some of their knowledge to a terrorist group, such as Hezbollah, to test the waters before they delve into action. I know that the government has a plan for multiple different situations if our country comes under attack and their are people who refine them everyday, but do we have a plan for a cyber attack? If so, do we have a plan if our banking, power, or other resources fail due to a cyber attack?
